Petula's life was well before '85 February, when she suddenly turned into a ghost while meeting with his brother after school to be escorted to a concert. He was 5 yrs older, her parents, a physics professor at the CSU and his photojournalist wife loved their children and they lived relatively well in flat near the CSU campus.
Her brother was deaf-mute, but he complemented the missing senses with enthusiasm and diligence, and their relationship was as good as a family could be.
She had the voice of the angels, participating in every singing event since daycare just like her namesake. She also played very well on ukulele and her favorite banjolele, covering many popular songs with on these not-so-common instruments.
The anti-mutant movements, the supervillain attacks on the summer of '84 and the subsequent hysteria passed over them, since they had no relative who was affected. Her father had a few students who dropped out of the school because of their visible differences, and one leaved Steven's school, too, but those weren't close associates.
The fate turning moment was when her mutant powers emerged and with that she activated his brothers dormant powers as well, above at full extent causing him to rocket into the sky and shine brightly like a miniature star. In the following hours he took several Sentinels out from the sky, either plummeting them into the Erie Lake or shooting out of the atmosphere, while he slowly ascended to the direction of the stratosphere.
She was scared beyond imagination as she tried to understand what happened, and drifted in-and-out from visible to ethereal, sometimes levitating up after her brother, the next moment falling back - or under - to the earth as her new mutant powers fluctuated. She couldn't contact their parents as she wasn't able to touch anything. This was her luck as a single Sentinel tried to locate and capture her but soon it lost her trace.
