Known Powers:
Crystallization: Mn [71], He has the ability to transform anything into a sort of green crystal which resembles to the peridot gem, pure dark green, translucent (or not, decided by him at creation) with a deep glow. The crystals last Rank Number minutes normally and can cover RankNumber square feet / turn. So far he managed to develop some useful application with this power, but he knows there are many other tricks to learn. Gremlin can do the following stunts within In range (column B: 6 miles):
-Abnormal Biochemistry: His body is different from most people as his blood contains nickel in place of iron. That makes his blood silvery-green, just like his muscles and other parts what are normally have pink hue are greenish instead. His bones are interwoven with the crystal he can create and so those are stronger than the typical human skeleton as well.
--Crystal-laced bones: Gd [10], his bones are strong and much less breakable than a normal human's
--Digestive Adaptation: Gd [8], He can eat virtually anything, from normal food to such extremities like barbwire or batteries (the nickel-rich ones are preferred, of course) and suffer no harm but gain nutrients from them instead.
-Communicator Crystals: Am [50], he can create up to Rank Number small crystal patches, placing them on various devices which he can commnunicate with as long as the patch is in place. Without these, he can use his Cyberpathy only at touch. These crystals remain in place for Rank Number hours.
-Body Coating: Rm [26], he can envelop himself with a thin layer of peridot crystal, getting effective protection against damage. He managed to push the regeneration of the layer to a background-process, so he can act normally while it is active. If damaged, the coating re-grows in a rate of 6 points / round.
-Crystalline Visor: he can form his crystals in a special pattern, allowing him to replicate effects of other vision-based powers
--Electromagnetic Vision: Gd [8], allowing him to "see" the electromagnetic spectrum, detecting electricity, magnetism and radiowaves
--Microscopic Vision: Pr [3], he can read microfilms and see very well the minute circuitry within tech devices
Communicate with Cybernetics: Rm [27], He can change their programming, their behavior and their work. Needs Green FEAT for multi-chipped machines (PC); Yellow for single-chipped ones (digital watch); and Red for any other programmed device (player pianos).
-Technological Aptitude: if he can communicate with a device, he has +1cs on every FEAT to analyze, control, modify or repair it
Ultraviolet Vision: Rm [26]
Carrier Wave (magnetism): Ex [16], He can fly, utilizing the magnetic connection between the nickel in his blood and the Earth’s magnetic sphere. He can carry others with him up to 300kg.

Machine Animation*: Rm [26], since entering the Mystic Mists on the Savage Land, he has the Remarkable ability to make any machine within 1 mile work as intended and move at Rank Speed (-2cs if originally non-moving), no matter what is has any energy source or method for it originally.
-Assemble/Dissemble Machinery: Ex [16], he can command any machinery to dissemble itself down to its smallest parts or anything between, and he can also make them reassemble themselves into full functionality. This ability shortens the time needed for creating or re-creating new machinery.
Light Emission: Fe [1] - emmission point: body hair, his hair constantly emits short-wave ultraviolet light (UV-A) at Fe intensity. This light is invisible to the naked eye but enables him to see better in the dark with his Ultraviolet Vision. He is also easily detectable in dark environments with the appropriate tools.

Limitations:
-Apiphobia (fear of bees)
-his crystal constructs are at -1cs against specific Sonic and/or Vibration attacks (Yellow FEAT on attacker's side)
-He does not know for sure (doesn't want to believe), but he suspects that the crystal that is living within him is slowly spreading and at the end he’ll look like a walking crystal-statue. He calculates that it’ll happen around age 40, give or take a few.
-his Cyberpathy works only if he touches the device or leaves a shard of his crystals on them (Communicator Crystal)
-Prolonged use of the Carrier Wave hurts him, effectively doing 1 Hp damage per person at start and then another 1 for every 5 minutes
-he can't control the Light Emission power, that is constantly on. Prolonged contact causes skin burns, similar to sunburn.
-the Machine Animation power is new and as such, it sometimes activates by itself, causing small gadgetry - like calculators, cellphones, etc. - erecting legs and following him like puppies. - After almost a year, he learned to control himself and the powerleaks ceased.

Personality:

Intelligent and always curious, and not only in the areas of his beloved computers or Tolkien but anywhere else where he can sneak in to learn something new, something hidden. His abilities are serving good for this, since he can communicate almost every technological device and those are so common these days. If taken by the mood, he cares with no law or person until he gets the info he wants... or at least considers doing it. He likes most animals, but has no pity for those who mistreat them. Yet he has no problem with killing a chicken or watching it die if that happening seems natural and not caused by a human. He loves to read, and has hundreds of books – in digital form. He can be talkative, and can be silent as well, depending on his mood, so he is relatively normal. He is shy about his extraordinary parts (crystal nails), so he tries to hide them under disguise.

History:

A random mutant, born to a normal (?) family with a scholar-geek mother, who was from Wales, met with the father during his European tour, fell in love, came to the US with him, etc. She worked on a University, teaching languages (Welsh, Irish & German) from ancient to modern times, including runes and all and was a fan of Tolkien's work, transferring that to his son.

The father was the complete opposite as a Math professor, developing deep interest in computer sciences. He went to Europe, Great Britain after PhD (at age 26) in search of his family roots, being an American with Irish descent. He found not only that, by digging up family trees in small libraries and visiting third and fourth degree cousins but love as well in the form of a lovely-geeky language teacher.

The wedding happened 2 years later, when the first child was on her way already, born 4 months after the event. Then the others followed...

They’re living in Boulder City, Nevada, working here and the nearby Henderson.

The kid originally was normal, as any kid - with some minor differences. He read The Lord of the Rings a few times in Elementary School, learned Khuzdul and Quenya along the native English and German and Welsh, and had very light steps. He loved crafting runes in every available spaces and loved tinkering with machines, resulting some loss at first but then that got better.

With maturity came the mutation forth, and he developed the crystallization power and the UV vision. The parents were afraid, so they taught him to keep it secret (if that was possible - and when he obeyed) so he mostly used it in his tinkerings, creating various alloys and superconductors and stuff. All of them were limited in time, tho, since his crystal creations dissolved within the hour he did them. That annoyed him hard so he tried various experiments to make them last longer.

This led to the technical mishap (and to the loss of part of the basement and garage), which turned his life upside down. From then on he couldn't eat or drink any normal food or drink; he needed special nutrition, based on nickel - like energy cells or accumulators... This was the event which led to their moving into Boulder City, to cover some of the embarrassment.

He spent great deal of time to explore the possibilities of his crystal powers, and built tons of (mostly useless) devices to extend their lifetime...

These experiments led to another discoveries about himself, as slowly through the High School his other powers manifested, like the ability to communicate with electronic devices without any middle ground other than a touch (even through if that touch was lengthened by a thin line of green crystal) or to use the Earth's magnetic waves to carry himself on them, sort of slow flight.

This did not go unnoticed, of course, and that’s how the Academy found him... Not long before the school years’ end they visited the family and offered a place for Yorath, to teach him not only the skills usable and needed in the world just like any other High or Prep School but the opportunity to help understand his unique powers and abilities as well.

It wasn’t a long debate to decide the moving. They had the summer to settle their things in their home city, arrange jobs – with the help of the Academy’s connections – for his father on the ASU. The mathematics will be the same, anyway, he (his father) said and the students won’t be more stupid or unmannerlier there, either.

His mom was neck-deep in creating a book about Gaelic language and through that Gaelic history anyway, so she hasn’t objected the moving, either.

The only one who had problems, was his younger sister, not wanting to leave her friends and hobbies and all, but she had little choice, given her age. The truce came when the oldest one of the siblings, Nia offered that she’ll drive down once in a month and took her back for a few days, then she could meet whoever she wants. For everything else there is Skype and cellphones.
